Damage evaluation

Damage evaluation consists of property inspection and assessment of all types of loss or damage to buildings or other structures. The evaluation procedures involve on-site inspection, registering and photographing the damage that has occurred, analyzing the nature of the damage, determining the scope of repair work, taking decisions on the amount of compensation due and conducting negotiations with parties that suffered losses.

Damage assessment due to natural events is the most common and extensive form of loss evaluation performed by Almenna Consulting and is done in cases of damage caused by earthquakes, sea flooding, mudslides and glacier bursts. Damage appraisals due to natural events are done for the Icelandic natural disaster compensation fund, Viðlagatrygging Íslands. Almenna Consulting experts assess water and fire damage sustained by enterprises and individuals in cooperation with insurance companies and individuals.
